n

When a person purchases a UTV, they want to take it for a ride. They aren’t thinking about items they should carry with them or what accessories might make this ride more enjoyable. At a bare minimum, the rider needs to have a basic tool kit and first aid kit in the car. However, many other things should be taken on a ride. What items should every rider consider investing in?

Tire Repair Kit

A rider should always have a tire repair kit in their tracker utv. These vehicles encounter many obstacles during their off-road adventures. A sharp rock or branch could lead to a punctured tire, one that must be fixed out in the wilderness to get the UTV home. The right kit will handle most repairs with ease.

Jump Starter

A jump starter or battery cables need to be in every UTV today. In fact, it is helpful to have both. If the jump starter must be used multiple times, it will run out of juice. The batter cables then become essential.

Winch

Every UTV owner needs to invest in a good winch as soon as they buy the vehicle. When purchasing this device, choose one rated three times the vehicle’s weight. With this device, obstacles can be removed from the trail or a friend can be rescued after they get stuck. Never leave home without a winch, as it is extremely useful.

A Stand-Alone GPS Device

Many people rely on their phones for their navigational tools when out in the wilderness. They may not be able to get a signal with the phone or the battery could die. Always carry a stand-alone GPS for these situations. People who do find it much easier to navigate their way out of a challenging situation, particularly when they are on an adventure alone.

Extra Fuel

Off-roading means exactly that. A person is venturing away from civilization to explore new territory. When doing so, they take themselves away from everyday conveniences, such as gas stations every few blocks or miles.

Always carry extra fuel when riding a UTV. The fuel may never be needed, but it is a wonderful thing to have when something sharp punctures the fuel tank or another problem comes up. Remember to swap the fuel out occasionally. Having bad fuel is just as frustrating as having no fuel. Consider adding a fuel stabilizer to extend the lifespan of the gas.

Flashlight or Other Portable Light

Imagine breaking down as dusk approaches. Trying to make repairs to the vehicle is challenging under these conditions. A flashlight or other portable light is of great help in these situations. They can provide the light needed to complete the repairs and get back home. Consider investing in a solar-powered flashlight along with one that uses batteries to ensure light is always available.

Toilet Paper

nnnn

Never go on an adventure without putting toilet paper in the UTV. A person can use leaves to clean themselves, but what happens if the wrong leaves are grabbed? Nobody wants to find they used poison ivy or poison oak, as that would be painful. Keeping toilet paper in the UTV reduces the risk of this happening.

nnnn

These items are only a few of many that a person should always keep in their UTV. Protective gear, water, and snacks are three others. A person who is well-prepared will enjoy their off-road vehicle more because they know regardless of what happens, they can address the situation and be riding again in no time. Having that peace of mind makes every trip more enjoyable.
