The Answers to Your Questions about Vaping Liquids

Vaping

Even if you are an experienced vaper you may still have questions

For some smokers vaping is a relatively new trend, others have been embracing it for years.

Regardless of how long you’ve been visiting your local vape shop or purchasing your kits online, chances are you have a few questions.

While you can always ask the shop staff, even most online sites have a chatbot, sometimes it’s easier to sit back, relax, and do a little research.

We’ll answer some of the most commonly asked questions about vape juice.

What Ingredients are In Vaping Liquids

Most people want to know what they are inhaling and exhaling.

Similar to the labels on the back of food products, vape juice also comes with an ingredient list.

The two primary ingredients are propylene glycol (PG) and vegetable glycerin (VG). The amounts vary depending on the type of e-liquid. Some are based on VG while others have a higher concentration of PG.

You can also find 50/50 e-liquids. These have equal amounts of vegetable glycerin and propylene glycol.

What is the Difference Between the Three Types of E-Liquids

E-liquids with a higher amount of propylene glycol are thinner and produce less smoke than ones with a vegetable glycerin base.

You will also notice a difference in the ‘feel’ of the hit.

PG-based liquids produce a slightly harder hit. In other words, you will feel the hit on the back of your throat. If you prefer a gentler hit, go with a VG-based fluid.

If you like both smoke and a harder hit, try a 50/50 e-liquid. You get the best of both liquids and 50/50 liquids are also compatible with most types of vaping devices.

How Do I Choose the Right Nicotine Strength

A good rule to follow is to think about your smoking habits. Are you a pack or more a day smoker or do you only indulge in a couple of cigarettes per day?

If you are a light or social smoker, stick with e-liquids containing between 3 and 6 mg of tobacco. You may even get a slight nicotine buzz off of a 6 mg e-liquid.

Smokers who regularly go through a pack of cigarettes a day will probably want to choose a liquid with a higher concentration of nicotine. Start with 12 mg and see how you feel. You can always go up or down depending on your needs.

Heavy smokers, over a pack a day, may want to try a liquid with the maximum amount of nicotine. You can choose between 18 or 24 mg but be careful. When the hits are too strong you may end up with a slight nicotine headache.

The best advice is to start at the lower end of the spectrum. You can always increase or decrease the amount of nicotine in your vaping liquid.

When in Doubt Ask for Assistance

The staff at the vape shop is always available to provide assistance. If you aren’t sure about nicotine strength or type of vaping fluid, they can help you pick the right one.
